National Association of State Student Grant and Aid Programs (NASSGAP)

Summary:

NASSGAP surveys all 50 states each year to gather basic information about state aid programs–the amounts, conditions, numbers of participants. The annual survey is the only consistent source for comparative state-level information about different types of state financial aid.

Best for:

Distinguishing different types of state aid amounts and participants (need-based, merit-based, undergraduate, graduate, etc.) and comparing rules of different state grant programs.

Not as good for:

Institution- or sector-level analysis, disaggregation by student demographics.
